My book club last met the first week in January, where they picked Little Bee as our next read. So far I have: convinced someone to loan me the book, read the back cover, read the wiki, and promptly left the book on my nightstand.
We meet tomorrow.
I am determined to read every word of this book-and blog it-by the time we meet.
Initial Impressions
I have to admit I really hate the back cover of this book. I hate that it uses what I consider a “gimmick” to draw in readers. I hate it when books can’t give me a nice simple synopsis to help me decide if this is a book for me or not. Lucky for this book, I don’t have a choice. The Wikipedia article makes me think that it has potential (both to be awful and wonderful) and it really had no need for such a high handed trick on the cover. I will say, though, that I like the front cover art.
Well, best to get started. 271 pages to go.
